Three hundred and twelve years ago a powerful necromancer raised an army of undead and wreaked havoc on the land. He turned people on each other and mercilessly instilled distrust and terror across the land.
When the people finally defeated the necromancer, people feared those who did not look human enough, they feared magic, and so the banned those who practiced it. The only place many could seek refuge was to hide in the wilderness where their only protection were the creatures that were almost as dangerous as the laws.
