Walkie-Talkie follows 24-year-old Katie as she grapples with what it means to be asexual in a world that that is, well, sexual. When all her friends start to prioritize dating over their friendships, Katie embarks on a quest to meet and connect with new people by hiding a walkie-talkie in a new place each week and then going on a walk with the person that finds it. Essentially, she sets herself up on platonic blind dates.
Structured partially like an anthology series, Walkie-Talkie centers around Katie encountering a different, one-off, whacky character each episode. Except for Adam, the young man who finds the hidden walkie-talkie in the pilot. The series explores their complicated relationship with empathy, nuance, and humor.
